Komori Corporation has started to supply mass-production touch panel printing system by Komori’s gravure offset printing technology to the market. Also, Komori in cooperation with its distributor Schmidtek Ltd. will exhibit at Touch Taiwan 2014.
Komori introduced PEPIO gravure offset printing system series for the PE (printed electronics) market at Touch Taiwan 2012. In January 2013, Komori and ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan R.O.C.) entered into a joint-development contract to develop gravure offset printing systems and continue to work together still. At Touch Taiwan, Komori exhibited the newly developed Printed Metal Mesh Type touch panel as a working sample.
Komori realized high precision wiring printing systems using Gravure Offset Printing Technology with reasonable initial investment and favorable running cost. Before then, it was only available by very expensive photo-lithography technology. Komori has completed touch panel mass-production systems to boost the market. Mass-production of touch panel by gravure offset printing technology requires optimization of equipment, printing materials and printing plate, and Komori has the organization, which can support the systems totally by cooperation with material suppliers, research bodies and so forth.
Also, Komori announced that it acquired 100% shares of Tokai Holdings, which brand name is SERIA in the PE industry, and Tokai became a subsidiary of Komori on May 12, 2014. Since then, Komori is unifying Tokai’s screenprinting business and Komori’s gravure offset printing business to extend its PE business. Komori offers a total solution by uniting the technology and the sales channel which both companies have.
