Alien Technology announced its largest rollout of new Higgs-4 inlay products. The three new inlays join additional product variants across two other inlay products—representing 15 new Alien inlay products in all.
The Alien Technology ALN-9714 Bio RFID inlay is designed for use in pharmaceutical applications, especially glass vials or ampules containing fluids or powders. The small form factor (15mm x 17mm / 0.59” x 0.67”) lends itself to use on vials and ampules across the pharmaceutical, healthcare and chemical industries. The Bio tag offers read/write distances compatible with usage in pharmaceutical production facilities and handheld reader usage for logistics and supply chain.
The Alien Technology ALN-9741 Doc RFID inlay (95mm x 8mm / 3.74” x 0.32”) is designed for use on paper products such as documents and file folders where tags may be used in close proximity to each other. This tag is dielectrically matched to paper, cardboard and similar printed stock, but done so with a very small inlay outline. This thin outline makes the inlay extremely tolerant to close placement of multiple tags, minimizing the risk of shadowing or detuning each other. Together, these properties allow this tag to be placed on documents or files that are tightly packed together with many tags in close proximity to each other.
The Alien Technology ALN-9730-E Squiglette-E is a narrower version of its high-performance, general-purpose Higgs 4 Squiggle sibling. This E version is a world-tag with special tuning for the most challenging applications using European frequencies. Squiglette-E is already used in many high-volume applications including retail/apparel, enterprise-wide asset management, warehouse management and the tracking of other challenging materials and objects.
Additionally, Alien is introducing several new product variants of existing tags including narrow and rotated versions of the previously announced Alien Technology ALN-9720 HiScan RFID inlay (particularly effective with handhelds or other lower-power readers) and re-pitched versions of the ALN-9728 GT 30mm x 50mm RFID inlay. The original pitch version continues to be supported while the new ALN-9728-35 offers the tighter “35mm pitch” useful to some converters.
The three new inlays and all 15 overall inlay products are available now.
