Ubiquitous ID Center (UID)

The Ubiquitous ID Center was set up within the T-Engine Forum to establish and popularize the core technology for automatically identifying physical objects and locations and to work toward the ultimate objective of realizing a ubiquitous computing environment. The key aspect of uID technology is the terminal that supports communication between customers and the ubiquitous computing environment.  First and foremost, they offer local-area communication for accessing the microchips that store ucodes, such as RFID tags or smart cards.

uID center is an organization which is at the core of the management of ubiquitous ID architecture promoted by the Ubiquitous Networking Laboratory (UNL) Ity is led by Dr. Ken Sakamura.
