Huamao Energy to Spend RMB 3.6B on Thin-Film, PV Projects

Guangzhou-based Huamao Energy Technology Company plans to spend a total of RMB 1.64 billion establishing a copper indium/gallium selenide (CIGS) thin-film solar module project with total construction area of 32,000 square meters in Guangzhou's Baiyun District, reports Solar PV of China. The project will include two 25MW CIGS thin-film solar cell production lines and is expected to record annual production value of RMB 1.3 billion after it begins full production, said the report. The project, which will employ 200, is expected to begin construction before March 10, begin equipment installation on June 25, finish installation testing in September and produce its first solar cell panel before September 28, said the report.
Huamao Energy also intends to spend RMB 2 billion to establish a grid-connected solar photovoltaic power system with area of 88.26 square kilometers, said company board member Liu Guolin. The system is scheduled to start construction in June and will eventually provide power to 50,000 households, said Liu.
