eMagin Corporation is demonstrating the low power advantage of its active matrix OLED microdisplays with the new SXGA OLED-XL at EcoFocus being held April 29 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York, NY. Using a fraction of the power of comparably-sized LCD displays, eMagin OLED microdisplays promise reduced power costs for mobile entertainment, night vision goggles, and medical, industrial and military simulation/training.

Due to the innate ability of OLED materials to produce light, each pixel of a display is its own light source, eliminating the need for backlighting the entire display as is required in typical LCD flat panels, even tiny ones used in personal viewing products like night vision goggles and media viewers.
