Evergreen Solar, Inc. announced the appointment of Michael McCarthy to the newly created position of director – investor relations. He will report to Michael El-Hillow, CFO.

Prior to joining Evergreen Solar, Mr. McCarthy held similar roles at Brooks Automation and Photronics, Inc. over the past 15 years.

“Evergreen’s presence within the global investment community is growing, as is our need for a seasoned investor relations executive to lead this important function. Mike’s extensive experience with publicly traded global technology companies, their relationships with the investment community, and intimate understanding of the capital markets bring additional credibility to all our communications initiatives that reach these important audiences,” noted El-Hillow.

Mr. McCarthy received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, where he majored in public affairs management. He is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute and the Public Relations Society of America.
