Impinj, Inc. announced a partnership with The Coca-Cola Company to provide critical RFID technology supporting its new Coca-Cola Freestyle beverage dispensing system.
More than four years in planning, the revolutionary dispensing platform’s design utilizes both Impinj Monza tag chips and Indy reader chips, which together provide the core RFID capability of the system. The Coca-Cola Freestyle system uses RFID to monitor, track and maintain dispenser operations as well as to provide real-time business analytics about product consumption and preferences.
“The Coca-Cola Freestyle platform is a brilliant example of a successful integration of RFID technology into a high visibility consumer application. We are pleased to be a key partner with The Coca-Cola Company in its development,” said Dr. William T. Colleran, president and CEO of Impinj. “We believe the dispenser provides value to the consumer by offering a wider range of beverage choices, and value to Coca-Cola by significantly improving operational efficiency and imparting useful consumer research.”
Testing of Coca-Cola Freestyle dispensing system has already begun in selected U.S. markets.
