Reflecting REC’s continued expansion into the commercial roof-top segment and growing interest in solar energy from global companies, more than 4,500 REC modules have been installed on the roof of the new Hugo Boss logistics center in Metzingen, Germany by REC partner Goldbeck, a large construction company focusing on industrial roof-top and ground mounted PV installations. The 22,000 square-meter roof-top solar installation is among the largest and most powerful in the country, expected to produce around one million kWh of solar energy each year and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 540 tons.
“This significant installation of solar modules underscores the important development of deploying solar modules on commercial roof-tops,” said John Andersen Jr., REC EVP and group COO. “We are pleased to partner with Goldbeck on this project and proud that Hugo Boss chose REC’s high performance solar modules to help power its new logistics center.”
“In the industry, it is becoming common knowledge that economically and ecologically sustainable and attractive actions are jointly available and actually irreversibly merging,” added Joachim Goldbeck, managing director, Goldbeck. “We are effectively seeing more global companies turning to solar.” We look forward to continuing to work with REC, which has proven to be a dependable partner committed to quality.”
