Dyesol Expands Japanese Operations

The world leader in commercializing DSC (dye solar cell) technology and products, Dyesol Limited is expanding operations in Japan by establishing a wholly owned subsidiary, Dyesol Japan Co. Ltd.

To be known in Japan as Dyesol Japan Kabushiki, it will facilitate more direct communication with the major Japanese corporations and Dyesol’s expanding Japanese customer base, providing Dyesol with greater opportunity to enter into partnerships and alliances that will increase revenue through strong commercial relationships. The company is also, importantly, a direct means for Dyesol to protect and promote its IP portfolio in the region.

To commence formal operations early in 2010, the locally-based subsidiary is an important step in strengthening Dyesol’s global leadership position in the DSC marketplace. Japan is not only one of the most active solar markets globally, but also a major hub for DSC research and development. In addition Japan has declared its position to be the world leader in low carbon society, a market place for which the assets of DSC in terms of energy efficiency and clean energy protection, are ideally suited.

“This represents a significant opportunity for Dyesol to be more fully integrated in the Japanese DSC market,” Gordon Thompson, Dyesol director responsible for Asian operations, commented. “The creation of Dyesol Japan, as well as allowing closer relations to be established with major corporations having significant DSC activities, provides Dyesol with better access to R&D programs both corporate and government programs and opens doors to one of the world’s largest capital markets.”
