Xunlight Corporation, a leader in the development and manufacture of thin-film silicon solar modules, announced that it has received certification for its flexible and lightweight photovoltaic modules under the ANSI/UL 1703 standard for North American markets. This certification is applicable to Xunlight’s XR-series of flexible photovoltaic rooftop modules for a range of power outputs up to 264 watts per panel.

ETL certification was granted following rigorous testing by Intertek, an independent product safety certification organization. The product was tested to ANSI/UL 1703, the standard for Safety Flat-Plate Photovoltaic Modules and Panels. These certified products incorporate Xunlight’s triple-junction thin-film silicon solar cells produced using its proprietary high speed 25MW wide-web, roll-to-roll PV manufacturing equipment.

A recent survey of available products in the solar market shows that with this certification, Xunlight has become one of a very few PV module manufacturers today having flexible PV products certified to ANSI/UL 1703 standards.
