Nanosolar GmbH announced that its fully automated panel assembly factory in Luckenwalde, Germany, has received ISO 9001:2008 certification from TÜV Süd Germany, the German Technical Control Board.

This certification covers all aspects of the manufacturing and testing of Nanosolar thin-film solar panels. In addition, it verifies that Nanosolar demonstrated its ability to provide solar panels that meet its customers’ needs, as well as applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and that the company is continually enhancing customer satisfaction through improvements in its processes and assurance of conformity.

“We are proud to have received this ISO 9001 certification, which formally confirms that our German solar panel assembly factory is operating at the highest standards of quality and reliability,” said Eugenia Corrales, CEO at Nanosolar.

The Luckenwalde panel factory opened in 2008, and employees 98 individuals. The fully automated factory is run by only six operators per shift. By the end of 2011, the factory achieved a yearly readiness of a 115 MW run rate and had produced and shipped 100,000 thin film solar modules.
