World’s largest printer brings its expertise into emerging market.

With sales of more than $11.5 billion last year, R.R. Donnelley & Sons is the largest printer in the world. This places the company in a strong position to identify trends and pursue opportunities. This includes printed electronics and RFID.
R.R. Donnelley recently announced that is it looking to create three new independent entities, the largest of which will be the Customized Multichannel Communications Management Company (CMCo). In the 12 months from June 30, 2014, CMCo had approximately $7 billion in sales.
CMCo specializes in labels and packaging, as well as direct mail, statements and short-run commercial printing. These are ideal areas for printed electronics and RFID, and R.R. Donnelley’s previous efforts in the field dovetail nicely with this segment.
