Plextronics, Inc. announced it has achieved ISO 14001:2004 certification. The company was awarded this designation by ABS-QE for its compliance with environmental process standards and effective environmental management systems. Those standards and systems are used in the production and other operations related to conductive polymers and inks for use in printed electronic applications.
"ISO 14001 certification sends a clear message to all of our stakeholders that our commitment to the environment extends beyond the innovative alternative energy products we provide, and is an ongoing and integral part of our culture at Plextronics," Plextronics’ CEO Andy Hannah said.
According to Don Hodo, manager of Plextronics’ quality and core services, it was important to implement a systematic approach in defining, monitoring and achieving its environmental objectives. "This certification in particular underscores Plextronics’ culture of continual improvement and environmental stewardship, and goes hand-in-hand with the ISO 9001:2008 certification of our quality management systems, which we announced last year," Hodo added.
