Bundesdruckerei is presenting its new ME 3000 Card desktop personalization machine for the first time in Asia. The company will put its current product portfolio on show from March 29-31, 2011 at the Cartes Asia fair in Hong Kong. Shanghai MITE Speciality & Precision Printing Co. Ltd., a Bundesdruckerei joint venture, will partner the company at its booth.
Small and powerful - these are the main attributes of Bundesdruckerei's new desktop personalization machine for all kinds of ID cards. Up to now, devices like these were only available in large-scale format and hence not economically reasonable for countries with decentralized personalization where machines are needed "for the desktop" or for small-volume applications. Bundesdruckerei's new product is the answer to this problem.
The ME 3000 Card device personalizes ID cards in credit-card format (ID1) and is not only the ideal solution for countries with decentralized ID document personalization, but also for companies wishing to issue high-quality employee ID cards. Bundesdruckerei itself uses this machine to issue company ID cards to its employees. ME 3000 Card is scalable and works with an extremely fast laser so that around 100 cards per hour can be laser-engraved.
Another new development by Bundesdruckerei is ME 9000 Highspeed which will be presented at the fair as an animation. This laser personalization machine can handle up to 1,000 cards an hour. The machine is designed for the industrial sector and primarily for processing large quantities.
Shanghai MITE Speciality & Precision Printing Co. Ltd. is the partner at Bundesdruckerei's booth. The company is a joint venture that Bundesdruckerei has been successfully pursuing for the past 10 years with Shanghai Banknote Printing Plant. Shanghai MITE primarily produces ID documents for China, such as passports, and will present these at the fair.
