Printed electronics is a special topic at drupa 2012, the world’s leading trade show for the printing industry, in Düsseldorf. The OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) is partnering with the conference, “Future of Print: Printed Electronics,” on May 12, 2012, and the special show “Printed Electronics,” in hall 7.0. drupa will take place from May 3-16, 2012 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Organic and printed electronics enables new applications and opens up new perspectives for the established printing and packaging industry.
“As the world’s leading trade show for the printing industry, drupa is an extremely important marketplace that enables us to inform the printing industry about these revolutionary technologies,” said Dr. Stephan Kirchmeyer, chairman of the OE-A Board of Directors and head of the Business Unit Functional Coatings at Heraeus Precious Metals GmbH & Co. KG.
The conference "Future of Print I: Printed Electronics" is organized by the OE-A and will be held on the morning of May 12 at the drupa cube in hall 7.A. The focus of the presentations is on actual applications and products enabled by this new technology.
The high-level conference program includes presentations by Heraeus, Holst Centre, PolyIC, Plastic Logic, Printechnologics and VTT, featuring topics such as touch screens, organic photovoltaics, OLEDs, intelligent packaging, sensors, medical applications, e-readers and crossmedia applications.
The OE-A is also collaborating with the special show "Printed Electronics" at drupa innovation parc in hall 7.0. The OE-A will be presenting a number of applications at drupa which have resulted from collaboration among its international member companies: from interactive books and intelligent packaging to sensors, displays and flexible solar cells.
Visitors to the OE-A booth will receive a comprehensive industry guide on printed electronics, including the OE-A roadmap and a credit-card sized, energy self-sufficient flashlight that includes a printed solar cell, a printed circuit board and a flexible battery. The OE-A booth is in hall 7.0/E20.
