With Heraeus’ advanced conductive materials, 50 ohm/sq. has now been achieved. A new highly conductive material for touch and printed electronics technologies is to be unveiled at the LOPE-C show in Munich, June 12-13, 2013.
The new range will start with Clevios HY 1, a material that is concentrating on the best available conductivity. Transmission levels of over 96% can also be achieved at higher levels of sheet resistivity. Clevios HY 1 is suitable for use as an electrode in touch screens and membrane switches. To be applied both on to plastics and glass, the Clevios HY 1 offers a smooth and thin conductive film for use in devices. Clevios HY 1 can be printed by traditional methods, including gravure and slot die.
Clevios HY 1 will be followed later this year with Clevios HT 1, that will concentrate more on transmission properties. The materials represent an evolution beyond standard PEDOT:PSS materials so far offered by Heraeus. Formulations based on HY 1 for other application fields, including OLEDs and organic solar cells, are under development.
Samples of Clevios HY 1, subject to non-disclosure agreement, are available now. Full commercial quantities will be offered by the end of this year.
“In addition to our existing range of PEDOT:PSS materials, we are pleased with the development into more highly conductive materials and formulations,” Dr. Stephan Kirchmeyer, global business manager at Heraeus, said. “Broadening the Clevios product range provides device producers more options in the touch screen market.”
