Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (ASTI), a manufacturer of consumer and off-grid products integrated with state-of-the-art, flexible thin-film photovoltaic modules, announced the release of the EnerPlex brand's first solar integrated backpack, the EnerPlex Packr.
The Packr backpack is integrated with a 3-watt regulated flexible solar panel and equipped with a standard USB output, made with Ascent's revolutionary CIGS technology. The lightweight solar module adds minimal weight to the backpack while allowing it to maintain a traditional form factor. The 3-watt output allows consumers to conveniently power up their smartphones and other small electronics on the go, without ever having to stop and deploy the panel.
The Packr is immediately available for purchase via EnerPlex's retail locations in the Denver area, as well as online at www.goenerplex.com.
"The Packr is the perfect example of how Ascent's transformational technology can be applied to products which consumers use in their everyday lives,” Robert Meck, Ascent's vice president of product development, said. “The Packr provides a lightweight, useful, and powerful charging solution allowing users to stay 'Always in Charge' while on the move, reducing the need for them to be chained to an outlet."
