Cambrios Technologies Corporation, the leader in silver nanowire-based solutions for the transparent and flexible conductor markets, announced that the company received the Commercialization Award at the annual IDTechEx Printed Electronics USA 2013 conference.
Cambrios was honored for its innovative ClearOhm material’s successful growth during the past year. Since 2012, Cambrios’ ClearOhm ink has been implemented in several consumer-ready products from tier one original equipment manufacturers around the globe.
Hosted by IDTechEx, the Printed Electronics USA Commercialization Award is given to a company showcasing its actual commercial success of an end product using printed electronics. Cambrios was evaluated on both the number of products sold as well as impact on the marketplace and society at large. Made from highly conductive silver nanowires, ClearOhm material offers significantly higher optical and electrical performance than previous generation transparent conductive materials such as indium tin oxide (ITO). ClearOhm material is already being used to create the world’s highest performance transparent conductive films enabling innovative products such as touch panels, OLED lighting and OPV devices, as well as flexible displays.
“Coming into 2013, Cambrios’s laser focus resulted in targeted design wins going to mass production and our products being available in retail for both small and large area touchscreen based devices. Being able to purchase ClearOhm material-based products in local electronics stores is the best proof of the product’s ability to replace ITO as the transparent conductor of choice,” said Sri Peruvemba, CMO at Cambrios Technologies. “This win is a tremendous honor for the entire Cambrios team. We thank IdTechEx for recognizing the impact we are having on the market.”
“The ClearOhm material from Cambrios has been implemented as an ITO alternative in high performance consumer electronics products. This application shows the viability of the technology and is just the beginning of wide spread adoption of the technology. The judges agreed that this impressive commercial success deserved Cambrios the IDTechEx Commercialization Award,” said Raghu Das, CEO of IDTechEx.
