UniDisplay Inc. (UDI), a professional touch panel maker in Taiwan, announced that it has begun shipping touch sensor modules into mobile phone and tablet applications. The 4.7-inch and 8.3-inch diagonal touch screen modules are based on UDI’s One-Film-Solution (OFS) using Cambrios’ ClearOhm silver nanowire material. UDI’s customers in India and China have been successfully using its OFS touch panels in mobile phones for more than six months and a customer in Europe has launched a tablet using the same technology.
“We have been shipping OFS touch sensors into mobile applications since early 2013 and we are presently in mass production with several global customers,” said S.Y. Lin, CEO of UniDisplay Inc. “In partnership with Cambrios, we are able to offer world-class touch sensors at competitive prices.”
“We congratulate UniDisplay on its success and are delighted to be part of its OFS touch sensor designs,” said John LeMoncheck, president and CEO at Cambrios Technologies. “UDI’s ClearOhm material-based touch sensors offer a tremendous value proposition to mobile device makers worldwide.”
