Thomas Swan continues to grow and build its graphene materials business and remains committed to providing a reliable supply of high quality graphene materials. One of the key challenges facing the emerging graphene industry is identifying and optimizing applications in which graphene technologies add value.
A recent program “realising the graphene revolution,” launched by Innovate UK, is specifically designed to address this challenge.
By working with collaborative partners, Thomas Swan has successfully secured four projects within the program. The lead participants are Sharp Laboratories of Europe Ltd. (energy storage), Smith & Nephew Extruded Films Ltd. (separations), M-SOLV Ltd. (touch panels) and Nano Products Ltd. (printed electronics). In each case the projects will also engage with leading UK experts at the University of Manchester, the University of Bradford, the University of Surrey and Nottingham Trent University, respectively.
“We are very pleased to receive this support from Innovate UK as it enables us to work collaboratively with top class partners in target markets for graphene materials, while also tapping into some of the UK’s leading academic expertise,” said Andy Goodwin, commercial director – Advanced Materials Division. “We continue to be excited by graphene opportunities and will announce improved availability of Thomas Swan graphene products in the coming weeks.”
