Epec Engineered Technologies released a new online portal, a 24/7 self-service online site that enable their customers to easily get access to information when they want it. From an accounting standpoint, customers can view invoices, view summaries of outstanding and available balances, deposits, credit memo, and the terms associated with their account. There is even an option available to download or print their account statements.
Epec released a beta version of their customer portal around mid-March to a select group of customers. They then continued to make some minor enhancements based on customer feedback. Since March, there are now over 300 of Epec’s customers using this new online service.
“This new feature puts the power into the hands of our customers. Not many competitors in our industry have the IT resources and back-end infrastructure to support an online portal like this,” said Lorie-Lyn Fernandes, IT manager at Epec.
Besides the accounting features of Epec’s new online customer portal, there is also a feature that allows their customer to view current orders. Epec’s customers are now able to go online and view their order history, which is a huge factor regarding overhead going forward.
