Zebra Technologies recently equipped the ephemeral Biocoop 21 store in Paris, set up by France’s largest organic grocery cooperative and a leading organic food retailer, with DS7708 scanners and MC2180 mobile computers to improve staff productivity and enhance customer service.
Biocoop has opened its first ephemeral retail outlet in Paris, offering unpackaged organic food to an extended range of more than 250 grocery items. The benefits of easily identifying products and optimizing the speed of cashiers to reduce customers waiting time in queue were critical for the group.
Zebra’s DS7708 lets Biocoop store associates scan virtually any barcode even if the codes are damp, very small, poorly printed or damaged. It is seamlessly integrated into Biocoop’s point of sale (POS) software, being developed by ECO-SI, a subsidiary of Biocoop. Coupled with high accuracy, the faster swipe speeds offered by the DS7708 scanner allow checkout staff to process customers quickly and efficiently.
Meanwhile, the Zebra MC2180 mobile computers enable quick and easy inventory management by store floor staff.
