CSEM is the innovation partner of Swiss Pavilion at Expo Astana 2017 and is sharing its experience during this international exhibition by informing people and inspiring them toward a global future of renewable energy/.
CSEM is highlighting Swiss technologies, such as the the heterojunction technology (HJT) developed with Meyer Burger, which exceeds the limits of efficiency by more than 30%.
It wil also show Swiss solar adventures with ultra-light and highly robust solar panels developed for Raphaël Domjan and his stratospheric solar-plane project, SolarStratos, and how integrating colored and picturized solar panels in our lives is now marketed by Solaxess and ISSOL.
The Astana-bag demonstrator, where a silicon-based thin-film solar cell with outstanding properties at low light levels can create its own energy, even in the light conditions that prevail inside houses, will also be showcased.
The Astana-bag device was developed by CSEM within the European gateone project framework. The device enables interaction between the bag and the surrounding environment, thanks to the flexible solar cell bearing the Heidi.com logo.
The cell senses the ambient illumination and controls the LEDs of the edelweiss pin, which is clipped to the bag. It will allow CSEM, via a data logger, to study the indoor ambient-light energy harvested by the cell.
