TactoTek announced the opening of sales and business development operations in Mexico with representatives in Monterrey and San Luis Potosí, Mexico – key areas of electronics design and manufacturing for global market leaders in automotive, home appliances, medical equipment and other markets.
TactoTek is partnering with the Prolamsa Group to develop the Mexico IMSE (injection molded structural electronics) market. For many global OEMs, operations in Mexico are evolving from being primarily a manufacturing destination, to including product design and engineering.
“Many automotive, home appliance, and medical equipment OEMs and their suppliers have committed to Mexico for mass production,” said Claudia Garza, TactoTek business development, Mexico. “A more recent trend is the growing role of these operations in innovative product design and engineering, skills for which Mexico is being recognized globally, and that matches well with opportunities supported by TactoTek IMSE technology.”
“Increasingly design and engineering projects are truly global in participation,” added Sami Hyyryläinen, SVP field operations for TactoTek. “We need to find and support those projects locally and having an experienced team in Mexico puts us on that path.”
