This award recognizes work that eMagin conducted in collaboration with the Army under the ManTech program. The program’s objectives were to enable the affordable manufacture of full-color, high brightness, high resolution OLED microdisplays utilizing eMagin’s direct patterning technology, which improves luminance and efficiency critical for military applications. This program also established a domestic source for advanced backplane manufacturing for OLED deposition.
“This prestigious award reflects the work completed under a $5 million, multi-year project and underscores the importance of our longstanding relationship with the US military to provide innovative OLED technology,” said Andrew G. Sculley, CEO of eMagin. “Through this joint effort, we are now working with an on-shore foundry to develop the world’s most advanced display backplanes for significantly increased luminance and efficiency of our manufactured displays for a number of key military programs.”
