Zebra Technologies Corporation announced that Combined Cargo Terminals (CCT) B.V., a full-service European seaport and transport hub logistics supplier, selected Zebra XSLATE R12 and L10 rugged tablets, accessories and Zebra OneCare support services to enhance worker productivity, ensure round-the-clock operations and streamline workflows for its container terminal.
“This is the first time we have deployed products from Zebra Technologies, and we are delighted with the results,” said Peter van Veelen, Process and IT manager, CCT. “We looked at tablets from other suppliers, but the Zebra enterprise rugged tablets came out way ahead in terms of performance. The Zebra OneCare support coverage for rapid repair or replacement is also invaluable as we work in a tough environment and weather conditions can be extreme.”
CCT has 24/7 facilities for handling, storage, breakdown and onward shipment of containers, breakbulk and general cargo at its Moerdijk terminal between Antwerp and Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
To optimize its expanding container port and yard operations, the company needed to automate manual paper-based processes with a modern fleet of devices designed to withstand extreme environments and support CCT’s wireless network migration to 4G.
Zebra Registered ISV Partner Triple-9 B.V. specializes in software and wireless communication applications and recommended Zebra rugged tablets to CCT for their connectivity features and one of the broadest sets of purpose-built accessories in the industry.
Zebra Reseller Indicium B.V. integrates the web-based container management applications and the Triple-9 Lyfo.NET application onto the tablets and manages the deployment. This collaboration delivers higher operational management performance and connectivity to all areas of CCT’s container yard which ensures business continuity.
“CCT now has a robust operational management 24/7 solution which is fast and efficient,” said Casper Zweers, Benelux Regional director, Zebra Technologies. “The Zebra rugged tablets meet the key requirements for greater connectivity in extreme conditions, delivering the total benefits of ownership our customers demand.”
