Zebra Technologies announced that Compass Intelligence recognized its SmartSight intelligent automation solution with an IoT Retail & Customer Experiences Innovator Award.
The Retail & Customer Experiences category evaluated solutions that support industry innovation, advancements in processes or operations specific to retail services, customer experience enhancements, transaction automation, innovative buying experiences and other retail advancements.
SmartSight is the retail industry’s first subscription-based robotics solution that turns data into corrective actions for mass merchants, grocers, and supermarkets/hypermarkets.
It is comprised of the EMA50 mobile automation system, retail automation software platform and both professional and managed services. Using 2D and 3D sensors, SmartSight creates a digital twin of stores and their shelves to help determine if there are out-of-stocks, price integrity or planogram compliance issues. The retail automation software platform then determines the corrective action needed and assigns a task to the nearest store associate’s mobile computer in real time.
“We are honored that SmartSight has been recognized with a 2020 Compass Intelligence IoT Innovator award,” said Joe White, SVP and GM for Enterprise Mobile Computing, Zebra Technologies. “With SmartSight, retailers can dedicate human associates to focus on higher value tasks, such as helping customers in store. SmartSight, including the EMA50, leverages Zebra’s deep retail experience and market leadership over the last 50 years. Our solutions help reduce the time front-line workers spend monitoring the status of shelves and increase their availability to interact directly with shoppers and improve the shopping experience.”
When used with the EMA50 enterprise mobile automation system, SmartSight can provide 95% accuracy in identifying stockouts, misplaced product, incorrect price labels, and location and planogram compliance. SmartSight provides brick-and-mortar retailers a performance edge by autonomously prescribing corrective actions to associates based on what is happening at the shelf.
