Zebra Technologies announced Mike Stent, VP of internal audit, has received the Seramount 2022 ERG Impact Award for Affinity Group Leadership.
The Affinity Group Leadership Award recognizes an individual whose grit and determination has led to the creation, success and/or turnaround of their affinity group. Stent spearheaded the creation of the Zebra Equality Alliance (ZEAL) Inclusion Network for LGBTQ+ employees and allies in 2019. He played a leading role in crafting the charter, structure, mission and objectives for ZEAL, which has become the gold standard for how employee resource groups (ERGs) operate at Zebra.
“I am incredibly honored to be recognized by Seramount for our efforts to ensure every Zebra is seen, heard, valued and respected,” said Stent. “While there is always more to accomplish on our journey to inclusion and diversity, this accolade serves as a testament to the progress we’ve made in empowering our employees to bring their authentic selves to work.”
Zebra is committed to expanding the diversity of candidate slates, building a culture of belonging, increasing representation, addressing unconscious bias and having an impact on society. Earlier this year, the company was included on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index for non-discrimination policies, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility.
“Mike seeks to enact real change with measurable results,” said Jeff Schmitz, Cchief human resource and marketing officer, Zebra Technologies. “We are proud of Mike’s leadership in helping us bring diverse people and big ideas together in a collaborative, candid environment to propel our thinking and power innovation.”
