Bill Liu, Founder, Chairman and CEO, Royole06.22.21
From day one, our mission at Royole has been to revolutionize the way people experience and interact with the world.

Just as the smartphone changed the way we live, work, and communicate, the proliferation of the Internet of Things , powered by platform technologies like AI and 5G, has made the world more connected than ever before, introducing devices and experiences that previously were unimaginable, or only dreamt of.

It's our belief that flexible electronics, from flexible displays to flexible sensors, will be the next transformative tech revolution, becoming the connective tissue between people and these platforms by creating new and simpler ways for people to engage with the things around us.

Whether making technology more accessible through interactive, touch-based solutions or making devices more compact and portable with foldable or rollable form factors; flexible technologies will add more convenience to daily life and empower people to experience the world in incredible ways— but to realize our vision, we cannot build it alone.

In 2018, we launched the Royole FlexPai®, the world's first commercial foldable smartphone with a fully flexible display, and since then, we've seen increasing investments from the display industry in flexible, foldable, rollable and even stretchable displays that have introduced revolutionary concepts for consumers; yet we've barely scratched the surface of what flexible technologies can bring to the world.

While industries like mobile, sports and fashion, smart transportation and others have explored the transformative potential of these technologies, every sector stands to benefit from the implementation of flexible electronics. Designers and engineers shape the physical worlds that surround us but are largely restricted by the limitations of rigid, two-dimensional technologies.

Today, we change that by expanding the flexible electronics ecosystem with Royole RoKit, the world's first open platform flexible electronics development kit, now available for purchase in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and China.

RoKit combines our flexible display and sensor technologies with programmable hardware into a developer-friendly, all-in-one flexible electronics development kit for product designers and application developers to discover and leverage the power of flexible technologies.

With RoKit we invite every industry to imagine and design with flexibility in mind, unfolding new possibilities for creators and accelerating the development of flexible solutions in all walks of life.

Royole debuts RoKit, the world's first open platform flexible electronics development kit

RoKit puts Royole's leading flexible technologies directly into the innovative hands of creators, packing everything needed to imagine, design and build products and applications with flexibility.

Our developer-friendly, all-in-one kit adopts modular design, packaged neatly into an anti-static aluminum alloy briefcase providing protection and convenience for transporting the device. The kit includes:

    • Royole's 3rdGeneration Cicada Wing® fully flexible display module: The latest generation of our fully flexible display delivers stunning visuals while maintaining extreme flexibility and durability, withstanding more than 1.8 million bends in certified display folding reliability tests.

    • Royole's proprietary fully flexible sensor module: Our flexible sensor technology can be adopted for unique flexible sensor applications or in place of conventional touch panel applications, making it highly versatile for new scenarios or improving existing ones.

    • Android 10 system development motherboard: With Android 10 support, application developers can use the development motherboard paired with our flexible modules to optimize software functions like app continuity,multi-window support, and other key features for foldable screen form factors, or develop new features that take advantage of flexible qualities. Alternatively, you can display video, images or text from a laptop or other computing platform to the flexible hardware via HDMI to MIPI, Wi-Fi, USB and other signals to explore further scenarios.

    • Accessories box with accompanying wires: RoKit comes fully loaded with accessories including expansion boards for microphones and optical sensing, as well as a Wi-Fi antenna and more to provide everything needed to get you started building flexible products from day one.

To make our technology as accessible as possible to designers and developers across all industries – from tech hardware enthusiasts to product designers across fashion, sports, smart transportation and more – we designed RoKit to be simple and easy to use. It only takes five steps to prep the kit for use, enabling developers and product designers of varying skill levels and technical backgrounds to bring their personalized needs to life in fully flexible form.

RoKit empowers every industry to jointly build the flexible electronics ecosystem

We are at the dawn of a new flexible era, where computing interfaces are becoming possible in places and things we've only ever dreamt of. From wearable stretchable screens to three-dimensional displays, to transparent smart glasses, windows and windshields; flexible technologies will provide unparalleled freedom to designers and builders to transform the way we live, work and engage with the world around us.

With more than 500 strategic partnerships globally across industries in smart transportation, mobile, sports and fashion, office and education, media and entertainment, and smart home, Royole has established itself as the leader and partner of choice for flexible electronic applications, attracting world-renowned brands like Louis Vuitton, Airbus and others to collaborate with us to develop unique flexible solutions of the future.

Our achievements, including developing the world's thinnest full-color, fully flexible display, launching the world's first commercial foldable smartphone with flexible display, FlexPai®, and most recently, introducing the world's first micro- led based stretchable display technology compatible with industrial manufacturing processes reflect our steadfast commitment to furthering the flexible technology industry through research, development and innovation.

As a pioneer and the global leader in flexible electronics, we welcome the responsibility of fostering the growth of a strong flexible ecosystem that encourages all industries to explore the unique advantages of this technology, with RoKit representing an important step in achieving our vision of a fully connected, flexible planet.

To every developer, designer, builder and creator inspired to imagine new and uncharted possibilities; join us and help build a more flexible future.
