Smart Packaging

11.12.08

Packaging which senses and informs. In intelligent packaging, the package function switches on and off in response to changing external/internal conditions, and can include a communication to the customer or end user as to the status of the product. For example, sensors can show if a food is past its freshness date or if a temperature-sensitive food has been in unacceptable temperatures.
