XENON Corporation is introducing the XENON X-1100 at the Printed Electronics USA 2016 conference and exhibition. A low-cost benchtop R&D system, the X-1100 features programmable pulse parameters providing operator setup flexibility that enables researchers, scientists and engineers to more easily characterize new processes using XENON’s technology.
Compared with current products, the X-1100 is more compact, flexible and configurable, yet offers far greater capabilities in terms of maximum radiant intensity output – up to 9 J/cm2. This capability makes it ideal for testing silver and copper nano inks placed on heat-sensitive substrates used in the PE industry today.
The X-1100 also includes a host of features that are beneficial to researchers. For example, its intuitive graphical touch screen interface and simple plug-in connectors for stand-alone optical lamp housing accessories make it easy to set up and operate. The compact size of this mains-pluggable benchtop unit – 95 to 250 Vac - also makes it ideal for testing and validating new applications in areas where space is limited. Price is one more important reason research facilities can add this lowest cost system to their R&D tool kit. And, once the X-1100 validates a new sintering process, scaling up to a high-capacity XENON system or adding production level OEM modules can be accomplished with relative ease and efficiency.
The X-1100 touchscreen interface manages the generation of high-intensity pulsed light by providing precise adjustment of critical parameters such as the pulse peak power and the duration. The system also can calculate the energy set by the user as well as measure the actual pulse using a built-in oscilloscope. In addition, sequences of pulses with varying on and off times can be created to enable more complex energy delivery schemes. Plus, storage and retrieval of user programmable pulse sequences, user access control, and event logging are all standard features of the X-1100.
XENON’s X-1100 high intensity sintering system will be showcased at PE USA 2016 (booth G22) in Santa Clara, CA November 16-17, 2016. Live demonstrations of copper sintering are scheduled.
