After a successful opening day, LOPE-C (Large-area, Organic & Printed Electronics) 2013, sponsored by the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) and Messe Munchen, returns for its second day with a variety of presentations covering hot topics such as smart objects, OLED lighting, displays, photovoltaics, inks and materials and much more.
The Plenary Session opens today with two overviews from OE-A leaders. OE-A chairman Dr. Stephan Kirchmeyer of Heraeus Precious Metals GmbH & Co. KG will begin the Plenary Session with his talk on “The Transition of Organic and Printed Electronics to Business.” He will be followed by LOPE-C chairman Wolfgang Mildner, managing director of PolyIC GmbH & Co KG and an OE-A board member, who will discuss “Crossing the Chasm – Printed Electronics Effectively Implemented.”
Graphene has become a topic of interest in the field of printed electronics, and Dr. Irina Grigorieva, director of The North West Nanoscience Doctoral Training Centre, University of Manchester, will offer her insights in her presentation on “Graphene: Magic of Flat Carbon.”
The Plenary Session will conclude with a presentation by Prof. Dr. Bernard Kippelen, director of the Center for Organic Photonics & Electronics (COPE), Georgia Institute of Technology, who will offer his thoughts on “Innovating Organic and Printed Electronics.”
LOPE-C 2013 will then break into four concurrent sessions, two each for the Technical Conference and Scientific Conference. The Technical Conference will look at a wide variety of topics, including Smart Objects, 3D-Printing, OLED Lighting, Encapsulation and New Materials:
• Smart Objects – State-of-the-Art Technologies and Applications I includes talks by Ynvisible, Mekoprint A/S and Gemalto.
