With interest growing in the field of flexible and hybrid electronics (FHE), Printed Electronics USA 2017, organized by IDTechEx, will be looking at the opportunities that are coming into focus for the technology.
PE USA 2017 will be held Nov. 16-17 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, CA. So far, attendance and exhibitor numbers look to be the largest in the conference’s history.
“We have exceeded 250 exhibitors, our largest exhibition yet, with the tradeshow floor fully sold out, as well as a record number of pre-event bookings for attendees so far,” said IDTechEx CEO Raghu Das. “There is a particularly strong focus on flexible electronics and hybrid electronics in the conference program, including component integration. This year we have graphene, RFID, China and Korean pavilions in the tradeshow.”
With an emphasis on brand owners and industry leaders, PE USA 2017 has a large group of end users scheduled to share their thoughts on the technology.
“We will feature speakers from NASCAR, Samsung, Google, OSRAM, Galvani Bioelectronics, Mercedes Benz, JCDecaux, The US Army, Porsche and many more,” said Das.
Cornerstone presentations will be delivered by Julia Landauer, owner of Julie Landauer Racing,” who will open the conference with “The Clash of Silicon Valley and Racing,” a look at how fields such as alternative energy, wearables for monitoring drivers, Augmented Reality and electric vehicles can intersect with racing.
Thomas Morel, R&D custom solutions director for JCDecaux, will analyze “Applications for Emerging Technologies for Digital Out of Home Media,” a wide-ranging look at outdoor advertising, including flexible and printed displays, street furniture connected online, solar and more. Sebastien Ouchouche, principal engineer for Galvani Bioelectronics, will then focus on “Bioelectronic Medicine.”
Terrafugia CTO Dr. Carl Dietrich CTO will close the opening session with “Transportation of the Future Today.” Dr. Dietrich will cover Terrafugia’s flying/driving vehicles, as well as the Internet of Things (IoT), sensors and autonomous systems.
In addition, there will be more than 240 speakers across eight parallel tracks are planned, with sessions dedicated to displays, smart packaging, sensors, hybrid printed electronics, 3D printed electronics, e-textiles, RFID, IoT and Sensors, battery innovations and more.
In addition to Printed Electronics USA 2017, there will be eight co-located programs that offer connections to the various themes. This year’s shows include programs on 3D Printing, Electric Vehicles, Energy Harvesting, Energy Storage Innovations, Graphene, Internet of Things (IoT) Applications, Sensors, and Wearables.
