The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the showcase for the electronics industry, highlighting the latest in appliances, displays, sensors, wearables and many more new applications.
After a one-year hiatus due to then COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s show returns on Jan. 5-8 throughout Las Vegas, and will have lots to offer people looking into flexible and printed technologies.
More than 1,900 exhibiting companies are signed up for CES 2022, including all of the major electronics manufacturers. From TVs and displays to autonomous vehicles and more, there is plenty to see at CES 2022.
With that said, there are companies pulling out as COVID-19 continues to impact our world. T-Mobile and Amazon recently announced they are pulling out. There is some uncertainty if there will be more.
The OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association) will host a joint pavilion at Tech West, Exhibition booth #51139, Venetian Expo, Hall A-C, Smart Home Area; and co-located with the areas Wearables, Wireless Devices & Services, Fitness.
There will be 11 OE-A member companies on hand, including the OE-A - Organic and Printed Electronics Association; Coatema Coating Machinery GmbH; CondAlign AS; COPT Center University of Cologne; Fraunhofer FEP; Holst Centre; InnovationLab GmbH; Mitsui Chemicals Europe GmbHl NovaCentrix; VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.; Xymox Technologies; and Ynvisible Interactive Inc.
CES Unveiled New York made some key announcements, which included:
• Samsung’s Jong-Hee (JH) Han to deliver pre-show heynote at CES 2022
• CTA announces Official Media Days Schedule for CES 2022
• CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honorees
• Peloton CEO John Foley and FOX business anchor Liz Claman to headline CES 2022 leaders in technology dinner.

Two technologies related to flexible electronics received CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honors. Canatu, Siili Auto, TactoTek and Rightware announced they have been named CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honorees for the Origo Steering Wheel, which was recognized for outstanding design and engineering in the Vehicle Intelligence & Transportation category.
The Origo Steering Wheel concept will be demonstrated at CES in Canatu’s booth 6971 in LVCC’s West Hall, and by TactoTek in private meetings.
“We are all very proud to be named CES 2022 Innovation Award honorees. The Origo Steering Wheel makes driving experience safe and enjoyable, and we are delighted that its value has been recognized through this prestigious award,” said Canatu CEO Juha Kokkonen upon the announcement of the award.
EMD Electronics, the North American electronics business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, will highlight technologies and applications for advancing Digital living, including several “Tech Talks” with senior executives, industry experts and partners.
