QD Vision announced the appointment of Mustafa Ozgen as the company’s new CEO. Ozgen comes to QD Vision with more than 20 years of management and engineering experience in the display, consumer electronics and semiconductor industries.
Most recently, Ozgen was SVP of Sigma Designs, responsible for the Home Multimedia business, where he worked with global consumer electronics manufacturers to accelerate the development and deployment of new audio/visual technologies.
In his new role as CEO, Ozgen will lead QD Vision’s management team as it continues to expand its product portfolio, customer base and geographic footprint. Ozgen replaces Steve Ward, who had been interim CEO and chairman of QD Vision. Ward will continue as chairman of the board.
“Mr. Ozgen is already well known and well respected by our customers and industry peers, and over the last several months he has shown me and the rest of the board that he has valuable contributions to make to our company,” said Ward.
A graduate of the Stanford Executive Program, the US Naval postgraduate school, and the Turkish Naval Academy, Ozgen settled in Silicon Valley and specialized in semiconductors for display and image management. In addition to his role at Sigma Designs, his career has included leadership positions at CSR (VP, Entertainment Products), Zoran Corporation (GM TV Business and VP, Engineering for Home Entertainment), and Oak Technologies (Director of Engineering).
“QD Vision is an incredibly exciting company armed with an unparalleled quantum dot solution portfolio, and I’m joining the team at a time of explosive growth and forward momentum,” said Ozgen.
