NextFlex Adds Dr. Scott Miller as Director of Strategic Programs

Dr. Miller spent the last 13 years with GE Global Research, where he led R&D teams for wearable devices.

    06.05.17
NextFlex, America’s Flexible Hybrid Manufacturing Institute, announced the appointment of Scott Miller, PhD as its director of strategic programs. Dr. Miller will be responsible for a wide range of future activities, including the management of some US government projects and building relationships with DARPA and the National Science Foundation.

He will be responsible for building, managing, and maintaining critical relationships with the medical, avionics, and pharmaceutical industries and trade associations. He will also be responsible for winning both commercial and government contracts to utilize the NextFlex Technology Hub to demonstrate manufacturing of flexible hybrid electronics.

“Scott’s deep industry and technology background will be an asset to NextFlex as we increase our capability to serve the diverse requirements of our members and to develop this new category of devices that will enable ‘Electronics on Everything’,” said Malcolm Thompson, NextFlex executive director.

Dr. Miller spent the last 13 years with GE Global Research, where he led R&D teams for wearable devices for healthcare applications, additive manufacturing, bioprocess technologies, and optical materials. He also has prior experience at W.L. Gore & Associations and the Mobil Technology Company. In 2013 he helped found the Nano-Bio Manufacturing Consortium (NBMC) and has been involved with NextFlex since its inception in 2015.
