Attendance is up 10%, and number of exhibitors increased by more than 30%.

As Printed Electronics Europe 2017 closes its doors in Berlin, conference organizer IDTechEx reported that the conference enjoyed continued growth in attendance and exhibitors.

“In terms of attendance, the event grew by 10% and the number of exhibiting companies was up by over 30% versus Europe 2016,” said Chris Clare, IDTechEx’s event director. “The conference program in Berlin featured 245 speakers from 24 countries, covering the needs and problems faced by different industries to the latest progress with the technologies that can address these challenges. Feedback from attendees and exhibitors was extremely positive.”

The theme of this year’s conference was “Connecting Emerging Technologies With Global Brands,” and numerous major brand owners were on hand to offer their thoughts on printed electronics as well as the topics of the co-located shows. These companies included VF, Toyota, Coca-Cola, HP, IBM, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Fiat, IBM, Jabil, ARM and JC Decaux.

“The event brought together big brands with the latest emerging technologies including sensors, energy storage, energy harvesting, electric vehicles, IoT, printed electronics, 3D printing and advanced new materials,” said Clare. “There were also many other exciting experiences, including a chance to drive a Tesla, see the latest energy independent vehicles and charge your phone at the solar powered V-Tree.”

IDTechEx’s next conference, Printed Electronics USA 2017, will be held Nov. 15-16 in Santa Clara, CA.
