Australian clean-tech company Dyesol Limited has won the inaugural Innovation category at the 2012 Clean Energy Council Industry Awards.
The Council applauded Dyesol for “ground-breaking development in the development of dye solar cell technology,” which saw the company take the top prize in the new category created to recognize demonstrated excellence and leadership in innovation and research in the clean energy industry.
“This prestigious award is a great tribute to the hard work of the Dyesol team and our partners in Australia and across the world,” Dyesol director Gordon Thompson said. “We are delighted to be recognised for our innovation and we are very focused on the next stage of commercialisation of our technology.”
Dyesol is a global supplier of dye solar cell (DSC) materials, technology and know-how. DSC is a third generation photovoltaic technology enabling metal, glass and polymeric-based products in the building, transport and electronics sectors to generate clean electricity and improve energy efficiency.
