Dyesol has been named the ‘Coolest Company in Australia’ beating 100 finalists to the top spot, as well as winning the Innovation Award at the Australian Anthill Cool Company Awards in Melbourne last night.
Dyesol was awarded the honor for its work to commercialize a revolutionary new solar technology that will electrify the building envelope and provide point-of-use clean, green energy based on a very cool biomimetic or artificial photosynethetic process called Dye Solar Cells.
"We are enormously chuffed by this award and more than a little humbled by it,” said Richard Caldwell, Dyesol's executive chairman. “Before this, I think we understood what was uncool, but never considered ourselves an example of ‘cool’ for others to follow. Acceptance of the award is done on behalf of the Dyesol staff, who approach their daily technology commercialization work with great passion and an appetite for challenge.
