PowerFilm, Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of thin-film solar products, unveiled its new LightSaver product line, including the LightSaver, LightSaver Pocket and LightSaver Maxx, at the summer 2015 Outdoor Retail Market in Salt Lake City, UT,
PowerFilm’s LightSaver products are durable, compact and lightweight and are part of a solar charging system. The smallest product in the line is the LightSaver Pocket which weighs 3.5 ounces with a 2.8 Ah USB charger and is perfect for charging cell phones, tablets, MP3 players, camera batteries, GoPros, GPS systems, etc. It features one USB output and a multi-color (red/Green) LED that indicates percent of charge.
The LightSaver weighs slightly more than the Pocket version at 4.7 ounces but packs more power at 3.2 Ah and twice the solar. Like the LightSaver Pocket, the standard LightSaver has one USB output and a multi-color LED that indicates percent of battery charge.
Loaded with 16Ah of power, the LightSaver Maxx comes in at one pound in weight. The Maxx takes the basic functionality of the LightSaver but increases the battery capacity and adds a high power output for higher draw electronics such as laptops.
“PowerFilm is pleased to produce this new line of innovative products,” said Frank Jeffrey, PowerFilm’s CEO and founder. “These products will meet the increased needs of consumers for remote power by providing new dimensions in usability--reducing weight and packing volume by a factor of four compared to current available systems.”
