Next year will see a change in executive management at Berlin-based Bundesdruckerei GmbH. The Supervisory Board of the IT security company appointed Dr. Stefan Hofschen as the future CEO. On Jan. 1, 2018, Dr. Hofschen will become a member of executive management and one month later will take office as CEO. He is to succeed Ulrich Hamann, who will retire at the age of 63 after 14 years in office as CEO.
Dr. Hofschen’s current position is division president Chip Card & Security at Infineon Technologies AG, where he previously held several management positions.
“We look forward to working together with Dr. Hofschen, who has an excellent reputation in the industry and a persuasive personality. He will continue the company’s very successful course and, during an era of ever-greater requirements for the security of organizations and government agencies, he will continue to pursue the development of new solutions, especially in the digital area,” noted Prof. Willi Berchtold, chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bundesdruckerei GmbH.
“Increasing digitalization of the commercial and public sector means enormous challenges for greater security,” Dr. Hofschen said.
“He took the company from an economically difficult position, steering it towards a stable, successful and profitable course of growth,” Prof. Berchtold id of Hamann. “It is also thanks to Mr. Hamann that Bundesdruckerei has developed a technologically leading role on its global markets.”
On Feb. 1, 2018, Bundesdruckerei’s executive management will be represented by Dr. Hofschen as CEO and Christian Helfrich as CFO. The shareholder of Bundesdruckerei is the Federal Republic of Germany, represented by the Federal Ministry of Finance.
