CERAN EXCITE is a complete portfolio of light-optimized materials, filters and coatings that was unveiled to the public at an industry event at IFA 2018 and has since won the iF Gold Award 2019.
It allows energy-efficient LED light sources to be placed under the CERAN cooktop panel, which, thanks to the new technologies, shine very clearly and brightly through the dark surface.
When it is switched off, the light zones are not visually perceptible, so that the observer is presented with an elegant, uniformly black glass-ceramic.
“We are very pleased that CERAN EXCITE enables a new era of cooking, in which we can offer visual support for more safety, intuitive control and connectivity,” said Dr. Jörn Besinger, head of Product Management and New Business Development for CERAN at SCHOTT. “However, beyond those aspects, we are able to bring emotion into the induction cooking experience, which is something that consumers are increasingly demanding.”
At IFA, visitors can discover the design possibilities of CERAN EXCITE first hand as featured in the Siemens iQ700 activeLight cooktop in hall 1.1, which will be available in September.
