Zebra Technologies announced that Kitchen Ware (KW), a leading home and care retailer in Chile, has implemented Zebra’s mobile computers, scanners and desktop and industrial printers to efficiently meet e-commerce business needs and improve order fulfillment.
Prior to the pandemic, KW was a B2B company without an e-commerce offering. In 2020, it opened its online channel to customers, processing more than 3,000 orders a day without an efficient warehouse operating system.
To overcome its visibility, tracking and productivity challenges, KW implemented Zebra’s ZT411 industrial printers, ZD421 desktop printers, DS2200 scanners, and MC3300 mobile computers, empowering its front-line workers to accelerate order processing and delivery times.
“When we adopted the Zebra solutions, we made a smart decision that put us ahead of future challenges tracking our high number of sales keeping units (SKUs) and volume of orders,” said Francisco Barrios, field operations manager, KW. “We quickly evolved from paper-based operations to automated processes which allowed us to improve our inventory management and accelerate order deliveries.”
To wrap up the project, the company implemented pick to light (PTL) technology to solve picking and sorting challenges. These solutions, integrated with Zebra’s mobile computers, reduced picking times by 50%.
“We collaborated with Zebra to introduce efficient processes for KW operations,” said Damaris Cordero, strategic business manager, STG Chile. “By using our WMS, the Chilean retailer enhanced productivity and reduced errors, resulting in faster order fulfillment and improved customer satisfaction.”
