I hope this message finds all of you well.

In the blink of an eye, our world changed. It continues to shift as the virus spreads and we respond; how we work, connect, and care for one another will never be the same. For me, I've been trying to work hard and adjust to life with two kids at home. We take bike and stroller rides almost daily, while keeping our distance — a new favorite ritual.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Bonbouton has been graced with luck. Our global team expands across three continents and five time zones and has been operating remotely for over a year. We come from different and rich cultural backgrounds, too — from Vietnamese to Syrian, British to Chinese —and have various areas of expertise: we’re scientists, developers, designers, operators, and clinicians. This diversity and ability to work collaboratively despite different working hours and cultural backgrounds have, I believe, worked to our advantage. Our team has never felt more empathic, connected, and concerned about one another and for the world.

Since the beginning of the outbreak from Asia in mid-January, each teammate was prepared with a different work scenario to keep up his or her work efficiency while maintaining responsible, good health. Our New York office closed a week before the shelter-in-place order from Governor Cuomo to ensure nobody was exposed to the virus; other teammates across the U.S. and Canada, Asia, and Australia, have been safe at home, too.

As NYU Winthrop hospital (where we have a clinical trial scheduled this year) reprioritizes to treat COVID-19 patients, we've also restructured our work; we are raising money to provide masks and gowns to NYU and other NYC-based hospitals so doctors and nurses can do their jobs safely. Our work at Bonbouton is still moving forward (read more about that below), but right now it's also important to lend a hand to those who need it today.

Let's work (and be) together so we can all overcome this difficult time.
