Liquavista BV has appointed Nigel Litchfield as Chairman of the Board. As the founding president of Vertu and former Nokia Mobile Phones board member, Mr. Litchfield brings a very broad and deep experience of product innovation and product marketing in the mobile device space to his new role.
“The relentless business focus which Nigel has developed throughout his career will bring a new dimension to Liquavista as we drive toward market introduction” said Mark Gostick, Liquavista’s CEO. “We are overjoyed to be able to attract someone with Nigel’s background and network as we move into the commercialization phase for our products.”
Mr. Litchfield commented, “I am impressed by the potential of the technology to address the key design constraints placed on mobile devices by today’s display technologies. This has huge value for applications from watches to mobile PCs and everything in between. Minimizing power consumption and improving visibility are perennial issues in mobile and these are inherent strengths of Liquavista’s electrowetting displays.”
Mr. Litchfield was a Nokia Mobile Phones board member from 1992 to 2002. As SVP product marketing from 1992 to 1996 he was responsible for determining Nokia’s product roadmap globally and for establishing many of the processes that helped Nokia to establish itself as the leading consumer orientated mobile phone brand. As SVP Nokia mobile phones APAC region from 1996 to 2002, he established Nokia as the leading mobile phone brand in APAC.
As president of Vertu from 2002 to 2004, Mr. Litchfield was responsible for the successful launch of Nokia’s wholly owned luxury mobile phone subsidiary.
