Printechnologics GmbH presented several world-beating innovations this week at Printed Electronics Europe 2010 in Dresden.
The company, known previously as the innovative system developer Menippos GmbH, has developed its own technologies to the market – ready stage and is now, under its new firm name and with international customers and partners, bringing them onto the market.
The unique and patented developments include a data memory and a battery, both of which can be produced entirely in a conventional printing machine – on paper.
Via the printed data memory, any print product can be connected seamlessly to the Internet and to multimedia content. In contrast to ordinary silicone electronics, this technology can be produced extremely affordably in high-volume print runs and is flexible, robust, environmentally friendly and fully recyclable.
The printed battery can be manufactured in any shape or size, is child's play to apply to thin and flexible products and is similarly environmentally friendly. It will thus become a preferred power source for mobile and short-life applications in everyday life.
With the production--ready developments from Printechnologics, visions such as the digital newspaper or intelligent packaging can at last be made real. Before this year is over, projects in marketing, publishing, logistics, gaming and medicine will be coming out with the new technology.
