On April 5-6, 2011, Printechnologics will present AirCode touch – an invisible identification tag readable by standard touchscreens, communicating with the online world just through a simple touch – at the Printed Electronics Europe trade show in Düsseldorf.
Having developed an absolutely new technology by using standard materials and processes, AirCode touch can be produced in a regular offset printing machine, directly being printed on common paper, cardboard or foil. Therefore, AirCode is recyclable and flexible like paper while at the same time the additional production cost is a fraction of a cent.
After printing the codes, a common multi-touch display as found in most of todays smartphones and tablet computers serves as reading device – no camera, no RFID, no additional hardware is needed. Holding the AirCode onto the screen’s surface will transfer the data hidden inside the paper automatically in less than a second – as easy as it sounds. Access to the online world is now possible without special reading devices and faster than ever before – just by a simple touch.
With all these features, the AirCode enables single item tagging down to everyday end user applications like for example marketing, brand protection, gaming, micro payment or ticketing. End-users will benefit from endless new applications like instant coupons, easy online access, secure verification or consumer information – just to name a few, printed on consumer focused products, the tag addresses the mass market and will open up a whole new world for the consumer – starting this year.
