PakSense was named Innovative Company of the Year during the sixth annual Idaho Innovation Awards, presented during the Idaho Technology Council’s annual Hall of Fame Celebration. The state’s only innovation awards program, the Idaho Innovation Awards recognize innovative accomplishments throughout the state. Nominations were judged by a selection committee consisting of leaders from Idaho’s business, technology and academic communities.
PakSense manufactures intelligent labels that monitor the condition of perishable goods through the supply chain. The company began shipping its first generation temperature monitoring label in 2006. About the size of a sugar packet, labels incorporate microelectronics that accurately sense and store temperature data. In 2008 the company released a wireless version of its label.
Most recently, the XpressPDF Label was launched which features an integrated USB connection that automatically creates a PDF temperature data file. PakSense Labels help determine the quality and safety of food, pharmaceutical, and other environmentally sensitive products during distribution and storage and have been sold into more than 70 countries.
