UPM RFID is introducing new UPM Web UHF and UPM Trap NF UHF inlays based on the high-performance Monza 5 UHF RFID chip from Impinj. The new UPM Web product is suitable for item-level retail, logistics and supply chain applications. The new UPM Trap NF (near field) UHF product fits perfectly for small item-level applications in retail and pharmaceutical end-uses.
UPM Web is designed for the unique identification of items such as apparel and electronics. The Monza 5 IC enhances item-level tag performance while providing high read reliability and the lowest applied tag cost in a compact size similar to existing UPC/EAN stickers. In addition, the Monza Self-Serialization feature offers the ability to generate a unique SGTIN serial number directly from each chip, and without the need for complex and costly unique serialization solutions or services.
UPM Web with Monza 5 IC is approved by the RFID Research Center of the University of Arkansas in denim and polybagged apparel basics in addition to other product categories for retail suppliers.
UPM Web with Impinj Monza 5 IC is suitable especially for item-level retail, logistics and supply chain applications.
UPM Trap NF is designed for item-level identification requiring a small footprint combined with superior NF performance, and is suitable especially for small item-level retail and pharmaceutical applications.
Samples of these inlays are available immediately. High volume production of the UPM Web and UPM Trap NF Monza 5 inlays starts during Q2/2012.
These Monza 5 based UHF products will be showcased at the UPM RFID booth 512 – during RFID Journal Live! in Orlando, FL, USA, on April 3-5, 2012.
“Compact, reliable and with low total applied costs, the new UPM Web and UPM Trap products with Impinj Monza 5 chips are welcome additions to UPM RFID’s extensive product offering. We’re delighted to be serving our customers with leading-edge UHF materials from Impinj,” said Tero Koivisto, product line director, UHF, UPM RFID.
