Advanced Health & Care (Advanced) and GENTAG, Inc. announced the market launch of a fully integrated wireless Near Field Communications (NFC) feature cell phone, to remotely monitor care worker visits in private homes. Four thousand GENTAG GT-601v2 NFC phones have already been deployed in the UK since June 2012.
The wireless kit uses Advanced's iConnect software, integrated with GENTAG's GT-601v2 NFC feature cell phone, to allow real-time task lists and data to care workers via their mobile phones and records their actual arrival and departure times at customers' homes using NFC technology. The need for care workers to carry around paper rosters showing where they need to be and when has been eliminated using iConnect and customers no longer need to sign pieces of paper to prove care workers' attendance at appointments. In the future, other customized NFC features will be added, such as remote medication monitoring, billing, etc.
"As the leading mobile workforce management software for care, we partnered with GENTAG because of their expertise in the highly specialized field of NFC technology, and their ability to translate the field requirements of our care provider customers into deliverable product,” said Jim Chase, managing director of Advanced Health & Care.
"This means we are able to deliver simple, cost effective and robust cell phones married with NFC technology that are specifically designed to support our iConnect product,” Chase added. “Thus the GENTAG and iConnect delivers a great unified package for care providers.”
